GEORGE WASHINGTON3 PULLEY (WILLIAM2, WILLIAM1) was born December 13, 1815 in Louisa County, Virginia to William Pulley Sr and Martha Patsey Thompson. We have two different birth dates showing for George. The other is Jan 13, 1816. George married Eliza Jane Owen on Mar 14, 1837 in Franklin County, Illinois. She was born on July 05, 1821 in Wilson County, Tennesse. Washington Pulley's farm was in east Marion township, formerly Crab Orchard precinct. Washington came from Tennessee and was of slave-holding people. He kept hounds for hunting and wife Eliza, baked large pans of cornbread to fed them. One summer during the Civil War, it frosted every month except August, so the corn crop failed. Eliza made the miller let her have the first of the meal he ground, because even the children were crying for cornbread. George and Martha had 10 children between 1840 and 1866.
