James Carman, whose prayers and hardships and long journeys and words of cheer and counsels of the wisdom have borne fruit in the
prosperity which has blessed the world, must not be forgotten, as one chosen of God for the increase in which we rejoice. Having
finished his work, the good man died and was buried near the old meeting house in Cranbury. In 1899, his remains were disinterred
and buried near the house of God in Hightstown.

Obit for Carman:
Homer Edward Carman, 70, of Dayton, died there Sunday.
A native of Pike County, he was a retired employee of Huffy Bicycle Company.
Surviving are two sons: Donald of Lima and Richard of Morrilton, Ark.; a brother, Norman of Waverly; a sister, Dorothy Coffee of
Ostrander, and six grandchildren.
Services are planned at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Howe-Wheeler Funeral Home in Piketon, with Rev. Waid C. Bradford officiating, and burial in
Mound Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p. m. today

Mary Louise Carman
Countless friends and relatives join with the members of the family in the
mourning of Mary Louise Carman. Daughter of Mrs. Ella Carman was born 7/20/1920.
She departed this life on March 9, 1939, at the age of 18 yrs 7 mo. and 19 days.
Altho never a stout girl she was always faithful and kind. She bore her ailments
with much courage and patience and doing for others. She attended Piketon School
till ill health would not permit her to continue. Eager winds were filling every
sail to Dash her life on the rocky reef of destruction, hope saw a shining star:
affectionate hearts and loving hearts reaching every available thing to rescue her
from the treacherous billows of the deep.
Her father and a brother proceeded her in the great beyond. Surving are her mother,
two sisters, Katherine Carman at home and Mrs. Dorothy Evans of Piketon, and two
brothers, Homer of Waverly and Norman of Piketon. Her fiance Omer Rapp of Waverly
and many relatives and friends.

Norman William Carman
Norman was Borne in Piketon, Oh and went to first grade in Piketon and
then moved to the country out from Wakefield, Oh. He graduated from
Scioto High School in 1954 and went into the army after marrying Martha.
Norman married Martha in Portsmouth, Ohio. They divorced and he then
married Norma who had one child named Diane which Norman adopted.
They lived in Waverly, Ohio. They later divorced.
Norman was in the army for two years and moved to Columbus, Oh, where
he managed a service station for a number of years. He was a member of
the Bible Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Oh, where he moved to be closer
to the family during his illness. His mother wrote we will miss this one
taken so young from this life.
Upon request by Norman's mother, Gertrude Kennard wrote the above saying.
Thanks Gertrude.
His mother put in the paper how she feels and a poem she found.
In memory of Norman W. Carman.
Norm, dear we loved you so but with you we could not go. One year
has gone but the hurt still linger's on, but like the poem, we know you
wanted us to move on. Until time comes for us to follow you home and our
hearts to will find the peace and rest you looked forward to. Sadly missed
by Mother, Father, Grandmother, Sister's, Brother, Nieces and Nephews.
